Plan for Expansion Expansion Goals Several of the short-term goals are described on the project page; these will be addressed as funding becomes available. The long-term goal is to build a Nature Center. FWMA looks toward a future where increased education of the people results in reducing the annual animals in care by at least half. We see that education facilitated by acquiring land for a Nature Center setting where the public can get up close to the permanent residents and observe some rehabilitation activities, e.g., flight training. In addition, otter and turtle habitats would be added in the hospital area. The nature center would feature various habitats for the wildlife that are unable to be released plus a songbird walkthrough aviary and a native habitat for release sites. Here is a conceptual layout of the facility/nature center. This major project is dependent on the acquisition of land, a minimum of 15 acres, preferably 25 acres. If you can contribute land or funding to assist with a purchase of land, we can jumpstart the project.
Together, we can make it reality.
