YOU CAN HELP ANIMALS BY
ANIMAL SPONSORSHIP
We have several permanent animal residents that can not be released back to their natural habitats. If you would like to sponsor one of these animals, please indicate this on the membership form. These are the animals available for sponsorship. The associated costs for one month of care are listed; you can donate to cover a month’s care, or a year’s care, or another amount that you select.
| Frosty, a blind white Welsh pony. Frosty came to us almost ten years ago with eye problems and allergic skin conditions. Her eye problems, diagnosed as Moon Blindness, have taken the sight in her right eye completely and left her only able to see shadows with the left. Added to her blindness, she has allergy problems which her a high maintenance animal but one who gives back so much love, a lot of laughs and, very often, a great deal of attitude! You can see Frosty’s beauty in this photo! You may donate $300 for one month of her care, or another amount of your choice. |

| Ralph, a brown pelican. This pelican was found in 1996 by Ralph (therefore the name) on Highway 98 in Panacea. He was “playing in traffic” and already had a damaged wing. He hangs out with his good friend Madam. He is getting up close and personal in this photo. You may donate $40 for one month of his care, or another amount of your choice. |
| Madam, a brown pelican. Madam was the first pelican that could not be released. She was found in 1996 by the Ochlocknee Bay with fishing line caught on her wing. Since the line had cut off her circulation, her wing had to be removed. She hangs out with her good friend Ralph. She is “expressing” herself in this photo. You may donate $40 for one month of her care, or another amount of your choice. |
| Seminole, a red tailed hawk. We have given him the nickname Sammy. He is not associated with the nearby university, but some say he is intelligent enough to be a graduate. He was found in Crawfordville in 2004 and is blind in one eye. He had to have one wing partially amputated. He is a handsome bird, as shown in this photo. You may donate $55 for one month of his care, or another amount of your choice. |
| Hiawatha, a great horned owl. She came to FWMA in 2004. She was hit by a car in Sopchoppy. Her wing did not heal correctly, so she could not be released. She doesn’t like to have her photo taken, but we slipped up on her and got this one. You may donate $40 for one month of Hiawatha’s care, or another amount of your choice. |
| Apalachee, a barred owl. He had a broken wing when he came to FWMA in 2001. It appeared that he had been hit by a car, and as a result had to have part of the wing removed. He is close friends with Miccosukee, his roommate. He doesn’t like to have visitors in his room, so we had to sneak a photo shoot while he was napping. You can donate $30 for one month of Apalachee’s care, or another amount of your choice. |
| George also known as Miccosukee, a barred owl. You can call him George or Mickey. He was hit by a car in 2004 and as a result part of his wing is missing. He is also blind. He struck a very handsome pose for his close-up photo. You can donate $30 for one month of George/Miccosukee’s care or another amount of your choice. |
| Winnebago, a grey screech owl. She is called Winnie, of course. She was brought to FWMA in 1995 with head trauma. She was trying to take a nap in this photo. You may donate $15 for one month of her care, or another amount of your choice. |
| Chilluckkittequaw, a grey screech owl. He had a difficult time with his long name, so we call him Lucky. He is looking quite dapper in this photo. You may donate $15 one month of her care, or another amount of your choice. |
